Can I update my Auto Route 2010 and how it can be done?

Answer by Roland Diskayne

The development for this product has been stopped in 2014, so I don't think there is a sense to update your current version.

Is this 2013 or earlier? Also, is this a full version, therefore unlimited uses, or is it a trial version with restrictions?

A
Answer by Alex Urbach

This is the 2007 version, but I believe it lacks some files to properly install it. However, according to Microsoft, the software is now discontinued. Here is what it says on the official page:

Microsoft AutoRoute was discontinued on December 31, 2014.

I believe there are far better applications that can be used instead of AutoRoute. For example, Google Earth or OpenStreetMap are good candidates.

Would like to download the application and browse routes while touring without the need to have access to Internet due to cost.

Answer by Julia Bocchetta

No, Autoroute doesn't require Internet connection to work. Its database is pretty big in size, and it contains major elements required to browse the globe. However, the software can be tested as a trial via the official website, but Microsoft insists on using the Bing Maps app that can be downloaded to your phone.

The program can't start because mfc100.dll is missing. Can you help?

Answer by Sean Hill

You need to install a Visual Runtime C++ 2010 package in order to overcome this issue. Click the links below based on the architecture of the operating system installed on your computer.

After the installation is finished, reboot the PC and try launching the software again.
